Discover how trench maps were made, their usefulness and how they helped achieve an all-arms victory in 1918.
Take a look at real maps, and how they tied in with aerial photographic reconnaissance in WW1. Learne how to interpret them on the ground, and use them in conjunction with other tools to visit and see the ground where your ancestor fought. This will also be useful in looking at WW2 battlefields and training grounds in Britain.
Graham Bandy has spent most of his life either in the army, in nursing, or doing both. He runs Living Military History and specialises in military history research and the identification of military photographs, uniforms and cap badges. Graham is the author of two books: Identifying Cap Badges and Nursing at the Frontline: A WW2 Diary from North Africa and Italy. He is feverishly working away at four more books which are all due by the end of the year. His next one is due with his editor imminently…!
