Virtual Tour: London Slave Owners

When keeping people in slavery was abolished in Britain, the owners of plantations that used slaves were given compensation. The enslaved people got nothing. Thanks to these compensation records we know about some of the people who benefited from slavery – plantation owners, land owners and the slave traders themselves.
This talk  looks at some of the people in London who owned slaves. Rob talks about who they were, where they lived, what they spent their ill gotten money on, and what legacy they have left in London today.
