She combines historical expertise with a passion for local narratives, uncovering the hidden past of properties and communities. She also works at Northern Roots in a community heritage role.
Catherine Ryan
Catherine Ryan is an historian and Qualified Genealogist based in Teesdale. Her PhD (Teesside University, 2026) examined Yorkshire property transfers, 1736–1783. A former agricultural economist and primary teacher, she brings statistical analysis to eighteenth-century archives. She serves on the Teesdale Record Society committee and runs the Boldron One Place Study.
Susan Russell
Susan Russell is a trustee and volunteer at the Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire. In addition to helping with museum visitors, she gives talks about the framework knitters and the museum to outside groups.
